Workstead has over 20 years of experience in matching European workers and Dutch client companies. We like transparency about our work method. This is why we prepared a step-by-step plan to explain what you can expect if you start a job via Workstead. Read the eight steps below.
The 8-step plan
1. Your first contact with us
You have found Workstead via friends, social media or ads. Welcome! If you want to know more about what we can do for you, or if you have any questions, please contact us by phone or email.
2. Welcome to Workstead
One of our recruiters responds to your email, call or the application form you sent. This happens within one working day.
3. Exchanging information and collecting details
In our first telephone call, we will answer all your questions. We also ask you some questions. We are pleased to tell you more about job openings, our client companies, your salary, our accommodation and commuting transport. So it is more like an application interview on the phone. If we both have a good feeling based on the phone call, we take down your personal details. We will also ask you to send a copy of your passport.
4. Discussing the date of arrival
We will agree a date on which you visit the Workstead office. On this day, we meet in person and we will sign your application form, employment contract, payroll tax statement, accommodation lease contract and the authorisations for healthcare and accommodation.
5. Packing your things
We will organise a comfy place to live, close to your work. We have put furniture in the homes and you will have all you need to live in comfort. Please bring the following items yourself:
- For your bed: pillow, pillow case, duvet and duvet cover.
- Bathroom towels etc.
- Kitchen utensils (plate, mug, cutlery, cooking pan, frying pan, kettle etc.)
- Clothing (work and other clothing)
6. Introduction and signing the contract
On the agreed date, you meet us at the Workstead office. You will be given a warm welcome by a job coach speaking your language. After a personal interview, we collect all documents required to start the job. You will sign the necessary papers to enable starting work with one of our client companies.
If you come to our office before 5 pm, you can sign your employment contract on the same day. If you arrive after 5 pm, you can stay in our temporary guest house. In our temporary guest house, you will have time to shower, eat, settle in and sleep. You can sign the necessary papers on the next working day.
7. To your accommodation
After organising all formalities, you will go to your new home with your own bike or car. you will meet your new room mates. Do you not have any transport? Then we are happy to take you there. We have prepared your room in advance, so you will be able to settle in straight away.
8. Getting to work with your new employer
You can start your new job with the employer the very next working day! We will assist you for the first contact. You can also count on us if you have any questions at a later stage. Our job coaches are happy to help you.
Let’s build your future together
We will stay in touch once you are working for your new employer. After one week, one of our recruiters will call you to discuss your experiences. We are eager to hear how you experienced your first working week. Maybe there is something that we can help you with.
As long as you work with us, you can always contact a Workstead job coach on working days. Our job coaches will talk to you in your own language as much as possible. That makes things easier! You can ask the job coach any questions. You can reach us on working days, and we also organised the following for you:
- You have access to an online portal. This shows you the work schedule, pay slips and work leave application forms.
- If anything breaks down in the accommodation where you are staying, please tell us accordingly with the online breakdown form in the portal. We will send someone to your address as soon as possible to solve the issue.
